OUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE

The Teaneck Planning Board voted in December 2021 to approve a Master Plan Amendment supporting Holy Name’s expansion plan. As shown on the map below, the expansion plan includes proposed improvement projects located across four “subdistricts.”

Holy Name Future Vision

Subdistrict 1:

This area consists only of residential properties. Holy Name is committed to preserving these existing properties. Landscaping will help Line A transform into a visually appealing buffer, separating residential properties from the Holy Name campus. Other changes that will enhance the residential character of the neighborhood include:

  • Eliminating the hospital’s current Grange Road entrance to prevent thru-traffic in the residential neighborhood.
  • Shifting access to the hospital via the Teaneck Road entrance and a new entrance on Cedar Lane.
  • Maintaining the residential appearance of Holy Name properties along Norma Court and Grange Road.
  • Creating a 150-foot “green space” buffer between the hospital and Grange Road, obscuring surface parking from residences.

Subdistrict 2:

This area immediately to the rear of the main hospital building will see limited change. This space is currently home to the hospital’s boiler plant, and will also feature:

  • Creating a cul-de-sac on Chadwick Road to further separate the hospital from the residential properties.
  • Expanded surface parking to accommodate hospital needs and prevent disruptions to surrounding street parking.
  • The addition of a daycare center for young children.

Subdistrict 3:

This area is at the center of the current Holy Name campus, adjacent to the existing main hospital building. Most of the additions in this space will be located on the downside of a sloping hill, minimizing their visibility from nearby residences. These additions include:

  • Two multi-story hospital buildings connected to the existing hospital.
  • Two medical office buildings (MOB) with enclosed parking.
  • Interior courtyard with enhanced landscaping and additional “green space.”

Subdistrict 4:

This area is on the eastern edge of the Holy Name campus. Additions in this space are adjacent to existing high-traffic commercial areas along Teaneck Road and Cedar Lane. These additions include:

  • Two multi-story medical office buildings (MOB) with enclosed parking.
  • Expanded surface parking to accommodate hospital needs and prevent disruptions to surrounding street parking.
